Sabudana Khichadi (North Indian style)
In this post we will learn how to cook sabudana khichdi in one of north Indian styles. Later i will write posts on other styles and ways as well. So subscribe to my blog if you want to get notification of new recipes.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup sabudana (Soaked for 4-5 hours)
- 1/4th cup roasted peanuts
- 2-3 spoon desi ghee
- 1/4th teaspoon cumin
- A pinch of hing
- Salt as per taste
- 1/2 teaspoon chilli powder
- 2-3 Chillies (finely chopped)
- 1 tomato (chopped)
- 1 Boiled & chopped potato
- Coriander leaves (finely chopped)
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
Let's start:
- Put the sabudana in a strainer and rinse well with tap water till the time clean water starts coming out instead of milky one.
- Put the pan over the gas and add ghee to it, add cumin and hing after the ghee is hot.
- Add tomatoes and green chillies and sauté for few minutes.
- Add salt, chilli powder and sauté well for 2-3 minutes
- Add potatoes and peanuts and cook for 1-2 minutes and add sabudana to the pan. Mix well and cover the pan with a lid. Cook it for 10-15 minutes or till the time sabudana turns translucent.
- Finally remove the pan from the gas, add lemon juice and coriander and Khichadi is ready to be served.
