Ingredients:
  • 1 cup Suji/rawa 
  • Ghee 3 spoons
  • 1/2 Teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 4-5 curry leaves (Finely chopped)
  • 4 spoon coarsely grounded peanuts (Without skin)
  • 4 Spoon kaju (Broken into pieces)
  • 2 spoon split urad daal (without skin)
  • 2 spoon split moong dal (without skin)
  • 1 spoon chana daal 
  • 1 onion medium sized (finely chopped)
  • 3-4 green chillies (split into two)
  • 1/2 spoon lemon juice
  • Salt as per taste 
  • 1/2 Teaspoon sugar
Let's start:
  • Put a pan over the flame and add the ghee to it. Once the ghee is hot add mustard seeds to it. 
  • Add curry leaves and green chillies and sauté.
  • Add urad, moong, chana daal, peanuts, kaju and roast till everything turns golden brown.
  • Add onions to the pan and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add Sooji to the pan and roast along with all other ingredients for 4-5 minutes and finally add 2 cups of water and cook on medium flame, add more water gradually (if required) and keep stirring so that it will not stick to the pan.
  • Add salt and half spoon sugar.
  • Keep stirring till the time Upma starts leaving the sides of the pan. 
  • Remove the pan from the flame, add lemon juice and Upma is ready to be served.
