Lockdown might be frustrating sometimes but it has brought something good also. We are spending more time with our families now. Those evening teas and snacks are not only the things of weekend now. We could actually make use of our balconies to take a break from our office work, can sit there and the enjoy the pleasant Pune evenings, sip a cup of tea and munch onto some tasty snacks. That's what me and my husband are doing nowadays. Today I am sharing a quick and easy snack recipe, Cheese Bread Rolls.
Ingredients:
- 8-10 bread slices
For stuffing:
- 2 cheese cubes (grated)
- Green coriander (finely chopped)
- 2 green chillies (finely chopped)
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 2-3 garlic cloves (finely chopped)
- 2 medium size potatoes (boiled and mashed)
- 1 onion (finely chopped)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4th spoon amchoor powder
- 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/4th spoon saunf powder
- 1/4th teaspoon chilli powder
- 1/4th spoon oregano (if available)
- 1/4th spoon chilli flakes
Let's start:
- Preparing the stuffing
- Take mixing bowl and add all the stuffing ingredients mentioned above. Mix everything well with the help of a spoon. and divide the mix into 8 parts.
- Prepare the round balls of the mix and keep aside.
- Remove the edges of the bread and give it a quick dip into the water. Squeeze the excess water by pressing the bread in between the palms.
- Take the stuffing and keep it on this bread and make a round ball of it. Make sure there is no open corner visible else the stuffing will come out while frying.
- Repeat the same process for remaining bread slices.
- Deep fry these balls on medium heat till they turn golden brown.
- Take out the cheese bread rolls from the oil, drain out the excess oil with the help of a kitchen tissue and serve with Ketchup or green chutney.
